Ingvill Gaarder creates series of works that explore colour, atmosphere, and materiality, from abstract gradients to experimental objects and installations.
About The Artist
Ingvill Gaarder is a Norwegian visual artist whose practice centers around abstract landscape painting, color gradients, and atmospheric compositions. Her work explores the interplay between memory, emotion, and the natural world, often evoking quiet, contemplative spaces through subtle shifts in color and texture.
Educated at University of the Arts London, Chelsea College of Arts (BA and MA in Fine Art), Gaarder's work is held in collections around the world. Her paintings are known for their meditative presence and painterly precision, inviting viewers into a space of reflection and sensory immersion.
Based in Tau on the west coast of Norway, she draws inspiration from the surrounding light, weather, and topography. In addition to her painting practice, Gaarder is increasingly exploring materials such as textiles, resin, and light-based installations, expanding her visual language while maintaining a deep connection to her core themes of transformation, perception, and presence.
